Heart of Project
Nhan stepped up last weekend for his second fight. This time taking on the challenge at 55kg.
His preparation was disciplined from start to finish. Strict nutrition with Kara, structured conditioning with Coach Tiff, and a clear focus on executing the game plan.
He performed. All three rounds, we were confident in his work.
The judges saw it differently, calling it a draw and awarding the decision to his opponent.
Both athletes showed up and put on a strong contest.
But this is where it mattered most.
Going from the expectation of winning to a result outside your control is never easy. It’s emotional. It tests you.
Post-fight, I didn’t just see performance. I saw growth. I saw Nhan’s desire to keep building in boxing. And I was reminded how important my role is as a coach in these moments.
This is what we mean by heart.
We take the lesson. We stay accountable. We come back better as a team.
Inspired by Nhan, I told the group:
If I’m ever not learning, you’re free to leave. But I’ll always stay a student - For you.
Back to work.
